7 Things Your Hands Can Tell About Your Health

Hands are one of the first body parts to show signs of aging. But they can also indicate certain health problems. Doctors say that the condition of your hands can be a result of several medical changes going on elsewhere in your body.
Bright Side gathered 7 symptoms that you should pay attention to in order to maintain your health.

Red palms

Doctors explain that red palms (or palmar erythema) can be a sign of liver problems, especially if you are over 50 years old. Usually the redness is located in the outer edge of the palm. The possible reason for red palms is a change in the hormonal balance which causes blood vessel dilation. Rheumatoid arthritis can be also a reason for redness on the palms.

If you’ve spotted red areas on your hands, you should get medical advice to find out the true reason for it. Meanwhile, try to switch to a healthy diet and lower your alcohol intake.

Sweaty palms

There are several possible reasons for sweaty palms:
  • excessive sweating
  • stress
  • overactive thyroid
In case of hyperhidrosis, which is excessive sweating, you can try strong antiperspirants. You can also get a medical procedure done to fight hyperhidrosis.
Try to limit your alcohol intake and learn to control your stress levels (meditation, “inhale-exhale” technique). If nothing seems to work you should definitely make a doctor’s appointment.

Loss of sensitivity and tingling

Sometimes we wake up with the feeling that we have lost sensitivity in certain parts of our body, and when we move it starts tingling. Usually it’s just because we pressed on the sensory nerve for a long time. The tingling is the time that the nerve needs to get back to work.
In some cases these symptoms in the hands can be a sign of a more serious problem like cervical osteochondrosis, carpal tunnel syndrome, venous thrombosis of the limb, a brachial plexus injury, anemia or diabetes. If you often experience loss of sensitivity in your hands without an obvious reason, go and consult with your doctor.

Dry hands

The most common reasons for dry skin on the hands are dehydration and estrogen deficiency which goes hand-in-hand with menopause. To avoid dehydration drink enough water and use moisturizing hand creams. Include oily fish, seeds, and nuts in your diet. Visit your doctor for hormonal replacement therapy, it will help you to control the estrogen drop.

Trembling hands

It’s known that shaking hands can be a sign of serious health problems like Parkinson’s Disease. If you have serious concern go and get medical advice. In the meantime limit your strong coffee and alcohol intake because they can also cause trembling hands. Other possible reasons are anxiety and major stress.

Weak nails

Weak or cracked nails can be a symptom of zinc deficiency. Zinc is really important for our health, it promotes wound healing, helps cells divide, and strengthens the immune system. Add some zinc-rich foods to you diet like oats, nuts, and meat. Doctors also recommend taking zinc as a supplement if its level is low in your body.

Clubbed fingers

If your fingers look like a club or a drumstick where the nail and finger develop a bulbous end, usually there’s a deficit of the oxygen in your body. It may be the symptom of a more serious disease like lung cancer or heart disease. Go and get professional medical advice if you experience “clubbing.”
Have you ever experienced any of these symptoms? Let us know in the comments below if you’ve noticed a connection between your hands and your health.

If You See This Label On The Fruit Do Not Buy It At Any Cost

When shopping for fruit have you noticed that several varieties come with labels on them. While some labels depict the country of export, others could even depict a brand.

However!! That isn’t the issue; the main issue is a little code number which you may be clueless about.

Fruits have labels which mean a lot and because you may have no idea what they actually mean, you make purchases without knowing how dangerous they could be to your health. If you see this label on fruit, avoid it at all costs. Read on to know why.

1Why do fruits have labels?

Labels on fruit are known as the PLU number. This stands for Product looking Number. Just as your plastic ware has different codes, fruit too has a PLU number which corresponds to valuable information connected to it. So what do these numbers mean?
The PLU number denotes the process that has gone into producing the fruit. Whether it is organic or grown on commercial farms, whether it has been sprayed with chemicals etc.

 2What do PLU numbers mean?

When the PLU is a 4 digit number that may start with a 3 or a 4, the fruit isn’t GMO food but has been grown in farms which have used pesticides and chemicals.
A number 9 denotes that the fruit is organic and grown without chemicals. That could be the best possible item you could choose. Organic produce is grown without chemicals. But when the number starts with an 8, it is a GMO produce and then you should avoid it at any cost.

 3What are GMO fruit?

If you see this label on fruit denoting a GMO grown fruit, it means that it is a genetically modified produce. It means that the fruit has been genetically modified by making changes to its DNA. Such modification can be effected by inserting DNA of other produce or even bacteria to enhance the growth of the fruit.
Now you know what labels on fruit mean, you can practice caution when making your purchases at your grocery store.

Looking At People Trying To Sell Mirrors Is Our New Favorite Thing And Here Are 20+ Reasons Why !

It’s one of those problems that you had no idea existed, until you actually have to do it yourself. How do you put up a picture of that mirror you want to sell, without awkwardly including parts of yourself in the reflection?

A viral Twitter thread is going around right now, with people posting and judging their attempts, and it’s becoming the unintentionally hilarious hit of the year. Some people have clearly gone to great lengths to hide themselves, others clearly don’t give a hoot. Others still see it as a chance for a little self-promotion.

How do the pros do it? Probably with the aid of Photoshop I would imagine. But for now let’s glory in the efforts of the amateur, in this list compiled by Bored Panda. Scroll down below to check it out for yourself, and please, share your tips on how to deal with this conundrum!
One guy was just browsing around when he noticed there's something special about pics of people trying to sell mirrors:

256 YEARS OLD MAN BREAKS THE SILENCE BEFORE HIS DEATH AND REVEALS SHOCKING SECRETS TO THE WORLD

256 YEARS OLD MAN BREAKS THE SILENCE BEFORE HIS DEATH AND REVEALS SHOCKING SECRETS TO THE WORLD

What is the longest a person has ever lived for? Meet Li Ching Yuen, a man who lived an astonishing 256 years!  And no, this is not a myth or a fictional tale.

According to a 1930 New York Times article, Wu Chung-chieh, a professor of the Chengdu University, discovered Imperial Chinese government records from 1827 congratulating Li Ching-Yuen on his 150th birthday,  and further documents later congratulating him on his 200th birthday in 1877. In 1928, a New York Times correspondent wrote that many of the old men in Li’s neighborhood asserted that their grandfathers knew him when they were boys, and that he at that time was a grown man.
Li Ching Yuen reportedly began his herbalist career at the age of 10, where he gathered herbs in mountain ranges and learned of their potency for longevity. For almost 40 years, he survived on a diet of herbs such as lingzhi, goji berry, wild ginseng, he shoo wu and gotu kola and rice wine. In 1749, at the age of 71, he joined the Chinese armies as teacher of martial arts.  Li was said to be a much-loved figure in his community, marrying 23 times and fathering over 200 children.
According to the generally accepted tales told in his province, Li was able to read and write as a child, and by his tenth birthday had traveled in Kansu, Shansi, Tibet, Annam, Siam and Manchuria gathering herbs. For the first hundred years he continued at this occupation. Then he switched to selling herbs gathered by others. He sold lingzhi, goji berry, wild ginseng, he shou wu and gotu kola along with other Chinese herbs, and lived off a diet of these herbs and rice wine.

He Wasn’t The Only One

According to one of Li’s disciples, he had once encountered an even older 500-year-old man, who taught him Qigong exercises and dietary recommendations that would help him extend his lifespan to superhuman proportions. Apart from Qigong and a herb-rich diet, what else can we learn from this Master of Longevity?
How about this: On his death bed, Li famously said, “I have done all that I have to do in this world”. Could his peaceful last words also hint at one of the biggest secrets to a long and prosperous life? It’s interesting to note that in the West, we’re often taught to believe that aging is something that must be “beaten” with high tech infrared devices and state of the art medication.

His Secret To Long Health:

Li was asked what his secret was to longevity. This was his reply: “Keep a quiet heart, sit like a tortoise, walk sprightly like a pigeon and sleep like a dog.” These were the words of advice Li gave to Wu Pei-fu, the warlord, who took Li into his house to learn the secret of extremely long life.
Li maintained that inward calm and peace of mind combined with breathing techniques were the secrets to incredible longevity. Obviously, his diet would have played a large role. But its fascinating that the old living person in recorded history attributes his long life to his state of mind.

Why Is This So Hard To Believe?

With the average lifespan for the Western world currently sitting between 70-85 years, the thought of someone living over 100 years old seems like quite the stretch. The thought of someone living over 200 years old seems extremely suspicious. But why don’t we believe that people can live this long?
We have to keep in mind that some people in this world don’t live a grueling 9-5 lifestyle, they don’t have to deal with the stresses of debt, they aren’t breathing polluted city air, and they exercise regularly. They don’t eat refined sugars or flour, or any foods that have had pesticides sprayed on them. They aren’t living off of the standard American diet.
They aren’t eating fatty meats, sugary deserts, and genetically modified foods. No antibiotics. No alcohol and no tobacco. Their diets not only exclude junk foods that we so often indulge in, they also include superfoods and herbs which are like steroids for our organs and immune system.
They also spend their spare time in nature practicing breathing techniques and meditating which have been proven to improve mental, physical, and emotional health. They keep things simple, get proper sleep, and spend a great deal of time in nature under the sun. When we get a chance to relax in the sun, we feel instantly rejuvenated and call this a “vacation”. Imagine spending a lifetime doing that in the mountains, and combining that with perfect mental, spiritual, and physical well-being.
I do not doubt for a minute that if we all did the things we knew we were supposed to do, that living to be 100 years old would be commonplace. When we treat our bodies right, who knows how long we can live for?
